Open Hearts

There are now six adult Christian Living classes on Sunday mornings. I would imagine there is one that will fit you! There is a bulletin board just inside the education wing that tells where all the classes meet. All of them would love to have you visit and make one of the classes your home.

On October 28, we began a Methodism 101 class for new members and visitors, but really it’s for anyone learning more about our church and the United Methodist Church in general. This class will continue to meet on November 11, 18, and 25. You are welcome to come at any point!

Hear now, all citizens, it has been decreed…

The year is 1 A.D. and you have been called by the emperor to return to your city of birth for census and tax collections! That’s how “A Night In Bethlehem” begins as you enter the city gates with your coins for taxes and your entire family for census. You can buy your evening meal with your few coins in the marketplace and then go to the field, spread your blanket, and eat with your family. Take care; there are tax collectors and soldiers collecting while you shop and eat. Then you will begin to notice an expectant couple wandering through the crowd as they search for a place to stay the night; their names, Mary and Joseph.

We invite you to this extraordinary experience of the Christmas story with your family on Sunday, December 9, at 5 pm. Begin the Christmas season in a whole new way.

NEW!! ADULT PRAYER STUDY

New class! Jerry Graham is facilitating a class that uses the Nooma video series as a beginning point for discussions on subjects of life and faith. This is a great series and Jerry is a seasoned Stephen Minister instructor, a winning combination. They are in Room C6 at 9:45am.

New class! Marce and Paula Ward are turning their many talents to beginning a class for those in their 30's with a growing family. They are using a video/book combination curriculum that is focused on community building and faith sharing. This class will address many issues that face young families today. They are in Room C1 at 9:45am.

New Class! "55 and Holding" began in August. They have decided on a book study/discussion format for their class. They meet in Room B7 at 9:45am.

The New Testament Class is just that. Right now they are studying the Books of Acts and have a format that makes it possible to begin the class without feeling like you're already behind. IT is a lecture/discussion class that looks at Scripture in detail and depth. David Christiansen is the teacher. They meet in the Choir Room at 9:45am.

The Seekers of the Light Class has joined the Nooma video series class in room C6 at 9:45am.

The Visitor's Class is a class with an open visiting format. They are located in the Conference Room in the Administration building at 9:45am.

The Young Adult Class is facilitated by visiting teacher LeaAnne DeVega. Their is currently studying the book, Letters to a Skeptic, about faith issues and our world. They meet at 11am in Room B7.

If you consider yourself a "young adult," come join us! We are starting our Bible study up again after the summer break beginning September 4th! We meet every Tuesday 7:30pm, at the church. Grounded is a time where young adults of the community come together for Christian fellowship and discussion. Please mark your calendars to join us September 4th!
