The Children's Education Department began the new program by Cokesbury (United Methodist Publishing Co.) called Live B.I.G. in September. It is an active, hands-on class environment that works well for active children who are used to multimedia programs through their preschool or school.
Live B.I.G. is all about living your Belief in God. It seems like a simple idea, but from our own experience (as adults) we know that it's a day-to-day effort that requires love, support and nurturing within our faith families.
Live B.I.G. will lead children to experience God through: * Coming to know Jesus and the Bible, * Relationships with others, * Praise and worship, and * Learning about God's creation.
We are excited about getting to know your child and build a relationship within this faith family. The classrooms are divided as follows: 3 & 4 year olds (Pre-K) Room C2 5 & 6 year olds (K-1st) Room C4 7 & 8 year olds (2nd-3rd) Room C3 9 & 10 year olds (4th-5th) Room C5
Everybody! Live B.I.G. If you would like more information regarding Children's Sunday School, please contact the Education Minister at the email above or the church office at (972) 625-1281. New Program Coming Soon FUMC The Colony is very excited about a new and very much needed ministry underway. We are in the planning stages of developing a program for special needs children, their siblings and their parents—basically a respite program. The church will provide a night out for families one night a month where parents can drop their special needs child and their siblings off at the church, know that they’re in good hands and are having a lot of fun, and they can enjoy some time for themselves for four hours. This gives parents an opportunity to go out to dinner, take in a movie, etc. There will be games, movies and lots of play time for the kids at the church while their parents are gone. In order to make this program a success, a lot of volunteers are needed—both adults and youth. Please contact Lori Woodford if you feel a calling to serve in this wonderful ministry.
