 Weekly Messenger - March 2, 2008

WELCOME

We welcome you, from wherever you come, to unite with us as we approach our loving Creator in a spirit of worship.  Your presence enhances our worship experience.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!

Saturday, March 15 is our Annual Easter Egg Hunt from 3:00-5:00pm.  We need candy donations and empty (lidless) milk jugs for a craft for the kids.  This is always a great event for the kids and their parents and we would like to continue to make it a great day for all.  We would appreciate your donations; there is a pink bin in the narthex for the candy and the jugs can be left in front of Rebecca’s office door or in the kitchen.  If you would like to help with this event, we have need of people to hide eggs and help with crafts and games.  To sign up to help please call the church office at 972-625-1281.  THANK YOU!!!

Hunt Schedule: 3:30pm Preschool

4:00pm Kindergarten to 2nd grade

4:30pm 3rd grade to 5th grade

MARCH COMMITTEE OF THE MONTH: NURTURE

The Nurturing Ministry has responsibility for the members of FUMC, The Colony. This ministry’s vision statement is to provide a warm, inviting, and nurturing environment. It is the intent of this ministry that all members will fully understand they are part of a church family that recognizes each individual, their individual needs, and their importance within the Body of Christ.

Several committees have been established to care for our members and we are continuing to seek new ways to meet future needs as they are identified.  Committees that are in need of additional support at this time are College Care Packages, Catch a Ride Committee, and Homebound or Hospitalized Member Visitation. To get more information about these or other Nurture Ministry committees please contact Laura Christiansen or Rev. Jack Cloyd.

SUNDAY EVENING LENTEN SERIES

Join us tonight at 7:00pm in the sanctuary with Rev. Jack Cloyd bringing the message.

CRISIS CARE MINISTRY

The Crisis Care Ministry is Active!  It is used to help the needs of our neighbors.  On the first Sunday of each month, you can leave money at the altar rail for this ministry, or you may mark checks for the Crisis Fund and drop them in the offering plate at any time.  Thanks again for keeping this ministry alive by your prayers and your gifts of love.

EASTER MEANS MORE THAN CHOCOLATE BUNNIES & BASKETS…

Have you ever wondered what happened during Jesus’ last week on earth?  And what exactly is “Lent?”  The Synago Sunday School class, for High School and Middle School youth, will be studying these questions and more during our Lent Series.  This study is at 9:45am in the portable building.  Please join us for this unforgettable journey into the story that changed the world.
