Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors

This Tuesday, April 22 at 7:00pm, we will begin an eight-week study on Prayer. The study will explore prayer history and disciplines for a robust prayer life. Sometimes it’s hard to know if we are praying “the right way” or even what we should expect in answer. This study will look at some of the prayer disciplines we can put to practice in our own lives as well as creating a strong nurturing group prayer life.

On Wednesday, April 23, at 7:00pm there will be a short term (8 weeks) Disciple Old Testament Study. To sign up for these classes, call Rebecca at the church

AMIGOS - THIS WEEKEND - FRIDAY & SATURDAY - April 25 & 26

STEPHEN MINISTRY - ORIENTATION

Stephen Ministry will host an orientation meeting on Sunday, April 27th, immediately after the 11:00am service in room B-7. LEARN ABOUT BECOMING A STEPHEN LEADER OR A STEPHEN MINISTER. Please call the church office at 972-625-1281 if you can attend this meeting. Light refreshments will be served. For the first time this year, Stephen Leader training will be conducted here in Dallas, July 13-19. Stephen Ministers training will begin in August at our church.

UNITED METHODIST WOMEN

UMW – Meets the second Saturday of the month. Next month’s meeting will be May 10^th from 8am to 10am. Since this is very close to mother’s day we want to do something special for mothers. Please put your name on the back of your mother’s picture and leave it in the church office. You can hand your mother’s picture directly to Joyce Fulco if you prefer. We are requesting a photo copy, so that your treasured picture remains in the original condition. Please mark your calendar for this special event. Program: Hotel Heaven, presented by “The Old Fogie Players.”

Diane Lindgren is a Licensed Professional Counselor with the State of Texas and is on staff with Pastoral Counseling and Education Center. She counsels here at First United Methodist Church of The Colony on Mondays and Thursdays from 12-8:00pm. Her phone number is 214-526-4525.
