STEPHEN MINISTRY - ORIENTATION TODAY

Stephen Ministry will host an orientation meeting TODAY, immediately after the 11:00am service in room B-7.  LEARN ABOUT BECOMING A STEPHEN LEADER OR A STEPHEN MINISTER.  Light refreshments will be served.  For the first time this year, Stephen Leader training will be conducted here in Dallas, July 13-19.  Stephen Ministers training will begin in August at our church.

UNITED METHODIST WOMEN

UMW – Meets the second Saturday of the month.  Next month’s meeting will be May 10^th from 8am to 10am.  Since this is very close to mother’s day we want to do something special for mothers.  Please put your name on the back of your mother’s picture and leave it in the church office.  You can hand your mother’s picture directly to Joyce Fulco if you prefer.  We are requesting a photo copy, so that your treasured picture remains in the original condition.  Please mark your calendar for this special event.  Program: Hotel Heaven, presented by “The Old Fogie Players.”

COUNSELOR

Diane Lindgren is a Licensed Professional Counselor with the State of Texas and is on staff with Pastoral Counseling and Education Center.  She counsels here at First United Methodist Church of The Colony on Mondays and Thursdays from 12-8:00pm.  Her phone number is 214-526-4525.

OVEREATERS ANONYMOUS

OA meets here at FUMC, Thursday evenings at 7:00pm in Room C7 (Choir Room).  Facilitator: Pam Carlson.  If you have any questions, please call Pam, 972-625-5826, or the church office 972-625-1281.

GRADUATION TIME!

In honor of our graduates, Student Ministry and United Methodist Women are hosting a dinner for high school graduates and their parents on Saturday, May 31, at 6 pm in the Sanctuary.  Call the church office to RSVP, Rebecca Grogan, 972-625-1281.  We are excited to honor our grads with a dinner and program.

MAY MISSION FOR STUDENT MINISTRY

You can help us collect for the Women’s Shelter.  This shelter opens its doors to abused women with children so that they can begin a new life without fear of abuse.  During the month of May we are collecting in the narthex: women’s and children’s clothing, diapers, and toiletries.  Thank you for helping others!

DO YOU LIKE TO PLAN AHEAD FOR CHRISTMAS?

During the month of May the FUMC Music Department will be celebrating “Christmas in May” by selling boxes of Christmas cards for only $1!  The proceeds from this fundraiser will help us pay for the third projector for the back wall of our sanctuary.  Please help us with this expense and stock up on some Christmas cards early in the year!
