Good afternoon, everyone.
This Sunday the youth band will be leading worship. With two
members of J 5:3 out of town, we felt it wouldn't be the same.
We'll be back next week.
Next Sunday,
May 11, we'll begin collecting for Friends of the Family.

SHELTER NEEDS
LIST
They asked each other, "Were not our hearts
burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the
Scriptures to us?" They got up and returned at once to Jerusalem.
Luke 24:32-33
WHEN I look at the experiences of the
disciples, I envy their opportunity to live, walk, and fellowship
with Jesus. Yet during times of challenge and uncertainty, their
actions and attitudes did not always reflect the insights Jesus had
been sharing with them. Their beginning was great, and the Holy
Spirit's fire on Pentecost was powerful. In between, however, they
often seemed to miss - or misunderstand - what the Lord was teaching
them. But after they saw the risen Savior and heard about what he
revealed on the Emmaus road, their eyes were opened. (See Luke
24:13-35.) Their zeal and vibrancy were back; their hope was
strengthened, and their focus became clear.

As I walk with the Lord and face challenges, I have found that at
times I lose focus and get off track from where God calls me. But
the moment I look to God to give me insight, I can go back to the
zeal I felt in the beginning. God helps me to refocus, and I can
once again testify to God's faithfulness. At times, all of us need
to renew our trust in God and to seek the reformation and
transformation that God gives. God's grace makes both possible.
Prayer
Lord, help us to
discover where we have gone wrong and, through your power, bring us
back to faithfully serve you. Amen.
